Neon melts in the puddles after the rain, as if the city itself couldn't bear their story. Everything around is trembling from the residual warmth of the embraces of those who can never be brought back. Fingers remember where the moles were, but memory is a poor healer, especially when only a purple mist remains inside instead of light. It seems the whole world now sounds at lower frequencies: bass pain, auto-tuned regret. Love, which got the address wrong, is still sending messages, but no one is reading them. You can surround yourself with glitter, chains, and crisp bills, but you won't find a single word that sounds honest. Only the rhythm, where each "ooh" is a sigh, and each beat a reminder that only a faint glow remains of our past "we" under the neon light.
