It’s like a conversation with the past that accidentally began in the quiet evening rain. Everything seems to be calm: the smile is tense, the voice is even, life moves on. Only from time to time something rustles inside and old photos in my head turn over on their own. It seems that he let go a long time ago, but as soon as he meets a familiar gaze, he drowns again, only now without the right to call for help.

There is a strange honesty in this to admit that replacement does not save, that you can learn to live without, but not instead. On the outside there is lightness, almost carelessness, and underneath there is a quiet echo of two once identical “we”. And for some reason this doesn’t make me sad, but just humanly warm: it means it was real.
