At first, it seems calm - almost diplomatic: "It's nothing personal." But between the lines, you can hear the last remnants of someone else's warmth still trembling under their fingernails. Here, hearts aren't broken in agony - they simply exhale, humbly folding the past into a neat box. The lid just won't close. A familiar street flashes thru my mind, and my phone is habitually searching, even tho there's no one left to look for. It sounds like a farewell without anger - just a polite "I wish you happiness" and a slight hint of unspoken words. That's when you let go not because you've fallen out of love, but because you can't bear to remember anymore.
