The words flow like a confession, each sentence sounding a little quieter than the last. There is anger at oneself and tenderness toward that which cannot be let go. It's a bit like talking to the mirror after a hard day: you want to change something, but inside you stubbornly live with someone who doesn't know how to do otherwise.

The music picks up on this feeling - not loudly, not dramatically, but like background noise in a room filled with too many thoughts. It doesn't comfort or accuse, but simply allows you to sit with this burden. And it becomes clear: going “against yourself” is painful, but sometimes it's the only way to remain honest.
