Someone's names are written in the margins of notebooks, unfamiliar music plays on the radio, and your own songs are hidden away until better times. A thousand days seem like an eternity: so many secrets, vows, and ridiculous promises can be squeezed into that time.

But the truth is that all of this is as fragile as a rainbow bracelet tied around your wrist and as sweet as the wind in your face on a spring bike ride. It's as if you understand that everything will change in the future, but for now you want to hold on to the moment, stretch it out indefinitely. Because childhood and youth are magic that knows its own expiration date, and all we have to do is take a step forward and not be afraid that the spell will be broken.
