À la base c'est nous

Once upon a time, everything seemed simple: the subway until the last train, shared dreams, and cardboard plans for a bright future. Then someone reached that future - but not together. And now success brings warmth, but not completely. There is money, Swiss watches, palm trees nearby... but in my head, there is only one thought: “comme c'est dommage.”

The track is not whining or pity, but that rare mixture of pride and sadness when you can be happy for someone else, even if it hurts a little. When you realize that “magic” happened, just not with the right people. Life goes on, likes multiply, but inside - it's still the same “à la base, c'était nous.”
