The words are full of bitter fatigue, in them cigarette smoke mixes with a plea for silence and a desire to disappear “behind the baseboard.” The music stretches thickly, like the night with the moon in the window - a faithful friend and silent witness to loneliness. In this song, tragedy and irony coexist so closely that it is unclear whether it is a cry or a sarcastic remark from an actor who is tired of playing.
