Now there's no sign of Jim, and in his place a tortoise. Is it him?
I woke up with a tortoise.

Tore the house apart in fright. This joke is wearing thin.

If I was my friend, I'd say he left you just to break your heart.
That the simplest explanation is he's cruel.
But I'm choosing poetic explication.
Aesop would support us. Figure Jim's a tortoise, and move on.
We stroke contentedly tonight, but Lord, he takes his time.
Plodding and laborious. Is it him that's living with a tortoise? Is it Jim?
