Description

This track is like a battle with yourself, when words fall heavily and actions give you no rest. Everything around seems alien, although perhaps all this was once familiar. Each verse contains a mixture of self-destruction and an attempt to understand why it hurts so much. And here it is - the feeling when you come to the realization that you need to let go. Not for the sake of someone, but for yourself. This is not about guilt and forgiveness, but about accepting the inevitability.

The words do not become easier, but nevertheless, they sound like liberation from something that can no longer be returned. The pain is mixed with emptiness, and even though something is gone, it is no longer important. The track is about moments when staying or leaving is no longer a question, but a process that leads to a world where there is no need to make excuses.

Lyrics and translation

Original

Take me apart and throw away my pieces
In the river, where I’ll shiver in the sun
Rake me through mud, cover me in colors
Steal my pleasure for whatever else is on
There’s no excuse, I know,
There’s nothing to excuse me from but this
And if you let me go
I’ll never amount to much, anyway, as is
Paint me in blue, go ahead and picture me
Happy if it puts you in the dark
Someone saw you, not like they saw me
Your shot right past my ear and met your mark
There’s no excuse, I know,
And nothing to excuse me from but this
And if you let me go
I’ll never amount to much anyway, as is
You said I couldn’t cut it, so I cut myself off
It’s not what I wanted when I offered myself up
You took more than your fair share, more than I could bear
And still it’s not enough
You said you were sorry, you told me you’re wrong, but
You’re sorry you were caught
Will they plaster my face on your green-garden terraces
Good as dead and gone
Parade of your influence, satin-robed mistresses
Lifting arms for you
A self-proclaimed angel avoiding all danger
I must have been a fool, trusting and stupid
You knew what you were doing
Oh how excuses flow,
When there’s nothing to protect you from this
And so you let me go
I’ll never be anything for you as is
