Description
It's like accidentally opening an old diary filled with stickers and children's codes. Between the pages, a note, slightly faded but still smelling of something warm, summery, innocent. Laughter sounds muffled there, as if from the basement of memory, and next to it is a tiny "bye bye" written in pastel pencil, too soft to truly say goodbye. The music seems to smile thru tears, light, almost carefree, but with that familiar lump in your throat when you remember how someone once taught you to distinguish cherries from sweet cherries, and you thot that knowledge would last forever. It's all over now, but for some reason, there's still an expectation that someone will come back and fill in the white pages with the color that was missing.

Original
E se m'hai visto piangere
Sappi che era un'illusione ottica
Stavo solo togliendo il mare dai miei occhi
Perché ogni tanto per andare avanti sai, avanti sai
Bisogna lasciar perdere i vecchi ricordi
Come due serial killer interrogati all'FBI
I tuoi segreti poi a chi li racconterai?
Che noi due ci conosciamo benе
Dalla prima elementare
E scrivevo tutti i miei segreti
Col pastello bianco sul diario
Speravo che venissi a colorarli
E ti giuro, sto ancora aspettando
E allora ti dirò bye bye (bye bye)
E scrivevo tutti i miei segreti
Col pastello bianco sul diario
Speravo che venissi a colorarli
E ti giuro, sto ancora aspettando
E scrivevo tutti i miei segreti
Col pastello bianco sul diario
Speravo che venissi a colorarli
E, ti giuro, sto ancora aspettando
English translation
And if you saw me cry
Know that it was an optical illusion
I was just taking the sea out of my eyes
Because every now and then to move forward you know, forward you know
We need to let go of old memories
You ask me how I'm doing and I won't tell you
Our old game was to never talk
Like two serial killers interrogated at the FBI
Who will you tell your secrets to?
You who always remain my Wi-Fi password
And who knows if you know
Please don't cry
And don't feel bad
That we two know each other well
Since first grade
And I wrote down all my secrets
With the white crayon in the diary
I was hoping you would come and color them
And I swear, I'm still waiting
And if you saw me laugh
Know that it was snow in the desert but
Nowadays nothing surprises me
I ask you how you are and you won't tell me
Me with Coca-Cola, you with Thai herbal tea
Because goodbye sounds too serious
And then I'll tell you bye bye (bye bye)
Sitting inside a bar we will then argue
For everything, even for the bill to pay
You know I'll miss it, na-na-na-na
Please don't cry
And don't feel bad about it
That we two know each other well
Since first grade
And I wrote down all my secrets
With the white crayon in the diary
I was hoping you would come and color them
And I swear, I'm still waiting
You taught me the difference between cherries and black cherries
And I will never forget her again
And I wish you the best, starry skies
The best nights and showers of others
Where you perhaps will no longer be out of step
Please don't cry
And don't feel bad about it
That we two know each other well
Since first grade
And I wrote down all my secrets
With the white crayon in the diary
I was hoping you would come and color them
And, I promise, I'm still waiting
