Relationships are like a failed chemistry experiment of feelings: too much passion, too little sense. Everything boils, hisses, smells of drama, and what's left at the end is ashes and a faint aftertaste of regret. Here, love goes hand in hand with irritation, and tenderness awkwardly pretends to be cynicism. Some people close their eyes to avoid seeing the truth, while others mistake embraces for power. It feels like two people are playing with mirrors: they reflect each other to the point of nausea, but they don't recognize themselves. Masks are falling, but it doesn't matter anymore if the same tired faces are underneath, faces that have long known that feelings can be turned off with a single movement, like a light switch. Only the smell of someone else's skin reminds me that the coldness in my eyes is also a form of protection.
