Description

It smells of bleach and youth that just won't wash out. My shirt is stained, the room is a mess, and in my head, I have that feeling when you're an adult, but inside you're still "eighteen again." You're trying to scrub yourself clean, but soap doesn't wash away old regrets, and Mom on the other end of the line still thinks the problem is an unmade bed. In this cry, thru the dirty floors and flickering candles, is a tired admission: being an adult somehow doesn't mean you know how to cope. Sometimes you just want to be a teenager again, someone who can call their mom and say, "Help me get out of this."

Lyrics and translation

Original

I got a stain on my T-shirt last weekend, it's still there.

I stay on my own 'cause I'm mouthy, bound to say shit you wouldn't dare do.

Well, maybe I'll wash out my mouth with soap, bleach my shirt and bury the problem, mm.

You don't need to spell it out, then let me down.

If you were here, it might help me solve them all.

So I'll blow out my candles, eighteen again. Mama, I love you, don't call again.

You say I'm messy, don't make my bed. She don't know the half of it.

Grown out of friends, eighteen again. Can't make amends, I left me for dead.

How does this end? How will this end? Mama, help me out of it, yeah, yeah.

Mama, help me out of it.

Mama, help me out of it.

I'll miss the bins again, just let my shit line the floorboards, mm.

'Cause I don't see any reason why I gotta keep it clear for you when you're the one who left me on my own, oh.

Maybe I'll wash out my mouth with soap, bleach my shirt and bury the problem, mm.

Mm.

Mama, help me out of it.
