Compass

Somewhere between the nite intersection and the phone light, the sense of direction is lost. I think I have a compass, but the needle keeps spinning – sometimes from excess speed, sometimes from other people's advice. And yet, step by step, with an inner stubbornness, as if there's a little motor built inside that won't let you just lie down and give up. In every line, you hear not a complaint, but a quiet "just a little more." The kind that scenes grow out of, where you're no longer afraid or ashamed - you just keep going forward because there's no other way. Music is like it argues with fatigue itself - it winks, throws you off course, but ultimately leads you back to the road. And at some point, you catch yourself thinking: maybe it's not about not getting lost, but about believing that the compass will work again.
