A contraluz

The old photo in my wallet is almost falling apart, but I can't bring myself to throw it away. It's like a little portal to where the sun is still shining, even if the light is against it. It seems someone here has survived a disaster with an amazing sense of dignity - everything has collapsed, but a dragon with a handkerchief is peeking out from under the rubble, still able to cry and joke about itself. The song sounds like a conversation with the past, where resentments have faded away, leaving only a faint smile: yes, everything was untimely, inappropriate, ridiculous - but, damn it, it was so human. And this sincerity makes you feel warm inside, as if someone has gently placed a comma where there used to be a period.
