The words are the same, the faces are the same, but inside, it's as if the focus has shifted, and suddenly it becomes clear how much self-deception there was, how much effort it took not to notice the obvious. The world is not collapsing - it's just that the familiar picture is cracking at the seams.
There is a special beauty in this calm disappointment: no hysterics, no “why me,” just fatigue accepted as a fact. When even hope no longer sparkles, but lies quietly nearby, resigned. And one thing remains - a strange, almost bright feeling of freedom: because if nothing else matters anymore, then finally you can breathe.
