Description
Autumn began as always - with attempts to hide mistakes under leaves. Winter was greeted with the same stubbornness with which people wait for snow to cover their tracks. The air smells of fatigue, but the right kind - the kind that comes after a struggle, not after flight. Everything freezes, as if the world has decided to hibernate so as not to hear its own thoughts. Somewhere on the horizon, warmth flickers - not from a fire, but from a return. To a place where you can breathe easily again, where everyone gradually returns, some from the hustle and bustle, some from pain, some from their former selves. And when it finally gets really cold, it means home is close.
Lyrics and translation
Original
We started in October, drowned our sins in cold November rain
Thoughts all through December, prayed for snow to cover up the pain
Been so long under winter's night, waiting for the sun
Watching the horizon
Everybody's coming home for summer
But still feels a thousand miles away
What a feeling, taste the freedom there with every bite
Finally, we're coming home, oh, home
We shadow-boxed the enemy, swing until we extradite our fears
They're backed into a corner, I ring the bell, we shed our blood and tears
Like hibernating sun-rays, hoping for the sun
Watching the horizon
Everybody's coming home for summer
But still feels a thousand miles away
What a feeling (what a feeling), taste the freedom (freedom)
There with every bite, finally we're coming home
Oh, we suffered in silence, through storms
And through violence
We've stayed our way
Yet, the waves have subsided, the clouds have divided, and
I found a reason to survive, found the will to stay alive
That will be the last thing that we do
Heading for summer
Back home for summer
Everybody's coming home for summer (everybody)
But still feels a thousand miles away
What a feeling (what a feeling), taste the freedom (taste the freedom)
There with every bite
Finally, we're coming home (hm)
Oh, we're coming home (hm)
Oh, I'm coming home (hm)
