Father Figure

At first, it all looked like a classic success story - gold from rags, a gentleman's suit instead of street dust, a carefully paid bill, and a helping hand. But behind the marble table and amber whiskey, there is always a contract hidden in small print. The teacher nurtures the student, but at some point, the student decides that the crown should be his size.

It smells of leather, cigars, and dangerous tenderness. Love is presented as a deal, loyalty as currency, and protecting the family sounds almost like a sentence. Everything is warm and cozy until it becomes clear: every empire has only one father, and the throne always remains with the one who holds the keys to the office... and the basement.
