Description
Life sometimes smells of tobacco and other people's advice, clinging to your clothes like memories. It seems simple enough: they teach you to be strong, independent, not to wait for help - but between the lines you can sense the weariness, as if this knowledge came too early. The world is indeed cold, and love in it is like a rare warmth that you still expect to have a catch.
And yet there is a kind of tenderness in this smoke. The kind that remains when everything else has blown away. When you realize that you don't need to open the window to air out the past - it will become lighter on its own if you stop being afraid to breathe deeper.

Original
Learned all I need to know when I was ten years old
My mama sat me down, lit up a Marlboro
She said the world is mean, she said the world is cold
Least of my worries was secondhand smoke
Don't know if I'll ever have enough money
No matter how much I got
Not sure if I'm ever gonna get married
Even though I found the one
Don't think that I'm ever gonna have children
If they grow up like me
What if they end up like me?
Learned all I need to know when I was ten years old
My mama sat me down, lit up a Marlboro
She said the world is mean, she said the world is cold
Least of my worries was secondhand smoke
She told me people leave and promises get broke
If you want anything, then do it on your own
All of my friends would say they smelled it on my clothes
Least of my worries was secondhand smoke
Every time I find me something perfect
I look for a flaw
Every time my life is finally working
Something'll go wrong
Every time someone walks into my life
I don't get too close
'Cause nothing's worse than hope
Learned all I need to know when I was ten years old
My mama sat me down, lit up a Marlboro
She said the world is mean, she said the world is cold
Least of my worries was secondhand smoke
She told me people leave and promises get broke
If you want anything, then do it on your own
All of my friends would say they smelled it on my clothes
Least of my worries was secondhand smoke
Least of my worries was secondhand smoke
Never cracked one window to light that Marlboro
Least of my worries was secondhand smoke
(Least of my worries was secondhand smoke)
Secondhand smoke
Secondhand smoke
