Description
Sometimes relationships resemble a nighttime drive on the freeway - you seem to be close, but there's still a whole chasm of headlights and asphalt between you. He's the seatbelt, she's the urge to break free, to reach for the moon, the stars, something that definitely won't fit in the backseat of an old car. Both pretend that everything is under control: smiles, jokes, headlights - a facade that hides their exhaustion.
And it seems like everything is fair - no one is to blame, it's just that there are no more ways to hold on to what has long wanted to fly away. All that remains is inertia: to drive forward until the road ends, until the night ends, until there is no strength left to find new words for old pain.
