Description
There are feelings that are frightening not because they are dangerous, but because they are real. When there is a canyon beneath your feet and only air above your head, you have two choices: retreat or step forward, hoping that the fall will turn out to be a flight. Everything in this story is a little reckless: faith is a thousand feet down, the heart is uninsured. But it is from such leaps that life is born, in which there are no regrets about taking risks. After all, who said that love should be safe?
Lyrics and translation
Original
There's a canyon tightrope standing in between us
And plenty of reasons not to walk that line
With a thousand feet of faith hiding beneath us
I'd take that chance just to make you mine
I dare you to set aside the things
You might have heard 'bout a boy like me
I dare you to let your walls come down
And throw your heart out on your sleeve
And I know that standing on the edge might be frightening
But if you want to know if falling feels like flying
I dare you to try it
Every road worth going down's gonna have peaks and valleys
And life ain't a gift worth living on the safer side
I've been praying for a love like you, and somehow you found me
But if you want it all
Girl, I double dog you to give this thing a try
Dare you to set aside the things
You might have heard 'bout a boy like me
I dare you to let your walls come down
And throw your heart out on your sleeve
And I know that standing on the edge might be frightening
But if you want to know if falling feels like flying
I dare you to try it, I dare you to try it
I dare you to set aside the things
You might have heard 'bout a boy like me
I dare you to let your walls come down
And throw your heart out on your sleeve
And I know that standing on the edge might be frightening
But if you want to know if falling feels like flying
Yeah, we'll never know if falling feels like flying
If we don't try it
I dare you to try it
