At The Same Time

When feelings turn into a poorly set alarm clock: one wakes up when the other is just falling asleep. Love seems to be there - and even strong - but it's always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes their fingers are intertwined, sometimes they are on opposite sides of the bed, staring at the ceiling and pretending not to hear each other's breathing. Sometimes it seems like karma - always slightly out of sync. As if someone up there is turning the dial so that the hands never match. And all that's left is to curse the same sky, hoping that someday it will get tired of listening and finally bring these poles together in a single minute.
