Description
Bundles of dollars, memories like scraps of torn fabric - and between them, the eternal “truth or dare.” Everything here is about contrasts: expensive chains and cheap smells of bleach, the Mediterranean Sea and the damp courtyards of Michigan, millions in bank accounts and the memory of what could have been.
Each verse is like a report on survival: someone laughed at the rags, now looks into your eyes with interest; someone was considered a loser, but it turned out the opposite. Money here is not about luxury, but about the opportunity to take your family away from the fire, get your children on their feet, prove that a difficult past is not a sentence, but a foundation.
The irony is that amid all the victories and expensive trinkets, there is a simple weariness: sometimes even words are an unaffordable luxury. But still, forward, because stopping is the same as falling. And it really seems like the truth, that very “true story.”
