Safe Spaces

Time seems to be stuck on repeat - either sleep won't let go, or reality is playing in slow motion. Faces flash by and disappear, while thoughts try to piece together a whole life into a single pattern, where there are always a couple of lines missing. Music is like a soft, frosty mist: at first it tickles the skin, then it envelops you in warmth. And even though everything around is rushing by at breakneck speed, there is a little pause here to catch your breath.
