Drenched

The sunny taste of yesterday clings to my hair, and the room is like a bed after rain: music is playing, the windows are closed, and suddenly it seems as if the whole world has been put on pause. Somewhere between achievements and a phone with empty notifications, childhood hides - that laughter when falling wasn't scary and spinning around was the meaning of life. I want to squeeze the most out of summer, get on a plane to the west, or just go out on the balcony and get wet in my little joy. There is a slight bitterness from the realization that “I should have just gone out,” but there is warmth from the thought that I can start changing my route - even if only in my head at first. A slight nostalgia and quiet determination, like a cup of tea on the porch: tart, cozy, and I want another sip.
