Description
A confident monologue spoken in a loud voice: each “I am the reason” sounds like a blow to the table. Here there is the glint of chains, the envy of others, and the memory that the street is not a metaphor, but a rigorous exam with no retakes. The words are a mixture of threat and pride, but fear slips between the lines: “if it weren't for rap, it would probably be prison or worse.” The music is held together by this tension - bright bravado mixed with the shadow of the past, where survival meant learning to be the cause of everything.
