Description
The linden tree rustles by the water, and in its branches it sounds as if birds are singing - only they are not birds at all, but three brothers arguing over the heart of one girl. Such naive beauty: nature sings, and in words - the eternal story of love, jealousy, and someone else's will. Laughter and sadness intertwine as easily as leaves in the wind: it seems to be a song about youth and tenderness, but in fact it is about the longing for what is decided for you.

Original
Z tamtej strony jeziora
Stoi lipka zielona
A na tej lipce, na tej zielonieńkiej
Trzej ptaszkowie śpiewają
A na tej lipce, na tej zielonieńkiej
Trzej ptaszkowie śpiewają
Nie byli to ptaszkowie
Tylko trzej braciszkowie
Co się spierali o jedną dziewczynę
Który ci ją dostanie
Co się spierali o jedną dziewczynę
Który ci ją dostanie
Z tamtej strony jeziora
Z tamtej strony jeziora
Z tamtej strony jeziora
Jeden mówi, "Tyś moja"
Drugi mówi, "Jak Bóg da"
A trzeci mówi, "Moja najmilejsza"
"Czemu tyś taka smutna?"
A trzeci mówi, "Moja najmilejsza"
"Czemu tyś taka smutna?"
Jakże nie mam smutna być?
Za starego każą iść
Czasu niewiele, jeszcze dwie niedziele
Mogę miły z Tobą być!
Czasu niewiele, jeszcze dwie niedziele
Mogę miły z Tobą być!
Z tamtej strony jeziora
Stoi lipka zielona
A na tej lipce, na tej zielonieńkiej
Trzej ptaszkowie śpiewają
A na tej lipce, na tej zielonieńkiej
Trzej ptaszkowie śpiewają
English translation
On the other side of the lake
There is a green linden tree
And on this linden tree, on the green one
Three little birds are singing
And on this linden tree, on the green one
Three little birds are singing
They weren't little birds
Only three little brothers
What they were arguing about was one girl
Who will get it for you
What they were arguing about was one girl
Who will get it for you
On the other side of the lake
On the other side of the lake
On the other side of the lake
One says, "You are mine"
The second one says, "God willing"
And the third one says, "My dearest"
"Why are you so sad?"
And the third one says, "My dearest"
"Why are you so sad?"
How can I not be sad?
They tell me to go for the old one
There's not much time left, two more Sundays
I can be nice with you!
There's not much time left, two more Sundays
I can be nice with you!
On the other side of the lake
There is a green linden tree
And on this linden tree, on the green one
Three little birds are singing
And on this linden tree, on the green one
Three little birds are singing
