Description
When betrayal is served up with the excuse “oh, it was an accident,” anger writes its own punchlines. Sarcasm spills out in lines about baguettes, “French kisses,” and hereditary bald spots, and beneath the guise of “everything's fine, I'm a grown-up,” that same predatory grin emerges. There is anger, laughter, and almost theatrical restraint here - when the heart breaks, but the tongue sings a victorious aria: you lost the best, my friend, and now live with it.
