When the gaze still holds, but the eyes already give it away, it's time to run. You can whisper “I'm staying” as many times as you like, but the sparkle in your eyes is always more honest. And so it turns out that new encounters are not romantic, but a tiresome duty: learning someone else's scent again, trying on unfamiliar warmth again and pretending it's your own.

The song sounds like that moment when the past hasn't let go yet, and the future is already knocking on the door with someone else's hands and someone else's children. And there's nothing worse than seeing one person move on while the other is stuck in a loop of memories.
