Danish rap or hip-hop with lyrics in Danish plays an important role in the musical life of Denmark and the Scandinavian region. He is known for becoming a means of self-expression for urban youth. A study of the linguistics of Danish rap notes that it "renews" ways of using language, but at the same time largely reproduces existing linguistic values. Media and research note that Danish rap is an integral part of Denmark. Although Danish rap doesn't necessarily dominate globally, it has become a significant cultural phenomenon at the national level.
